"The nascent bio fuel sector in the state is elated over the government's announcement on growing bio fuel plantations in around 7.281akh acres of waste land. It is certainly a great rural empowerment scheme. However, we are at loss to understand why the government wants to promote only jatropha. The government should take help from research and academic institutions for deciding on which plants jatropha or pongamia - suit soil and weather conditions in respective districts.
